Treatment For Female Hair Loss There is no set pattern for female hair loss. Some women don't start to lose their hair until later on in life; others find their hair thinning while they are comparatively young. Hair loss is usually much more traumatic for a woman than for a man - baldness in men is more freely linked with physical attractiveness than it is in women. Over 1 in 4 women inherit thinning hair. The majority of women who suffer with hair loss can end up with severe emotional problems such as depression, anxiety attacks and social phobias. This article aims to give information on the treatments available to combat female hair loss.

It is important to remember that there are no quick or instant cures for hair loss, and many people waste money and time on treatments that promise everything but deliver very little.

The most well known treatment for female hair loss is Regaine, also known as minoxidill. It used to be only available on prescription but can now be bought direct from the pharmacist. Have a look at the pharmacy stores on the internet, they offer great prices and the treatment is delivered straight to your door. Regaine is in liquid form and applied straight on to the scalp, it is at the most effective during the early stages of hair loss where the hair is thinning out or there is a bald patch no larger than a 50p coin.

Regaine was originally developed to combat high blood pressure, hair growth turned out to be an unwelcome side effect. Some clever researchers then realised they could put it to good use as a treatment for hair loss - no one knows exactly how it works though.

If Regaine is going to work, there should be some indication of reduced hair loss after about 4-6 weeks after the start of the treatment. You need to use it for at least 4 months before any indication of re-growth of hair can be expected, then you have to carry on using it indefinitely to sustain the hair growth. If you stop using the treatment, your scalp will return to its previous level of baldness within 3 months. Regaine Regular Strength hair loss treatment is clinically proven to work for 3 out of 5 women over a 32-week period.

In addition to Regaine for Women as treatment for female hair loss, you can also use Pregaine, a mild shampoo that is specially made to care for thinning hair. Even though this isn't specially made for women, it will add body, volume and manageability to your hair. It also cleans your hair well without affecting how Regaine for Women is absorbed.
