Hair Loss Remedy Articles : 5 Common Myths in Hair Loss by Cherry Bonachita

You probably heard about a lot of heresy on hair loss and you wonder if they are true or not. Let's evaluate these common myths about hair loss. So before you blame somebody (or something) why you are undergoing hair replacement now, let's review these myths and understand why they aren't true.

1. It is commonly said that you inherit male pattern baldness from your mother's side.

This is definitely not true. Many studies have been conducted that concludes male pattern baldness can come from either side of the family. This is also true for both male pattern baldness and female pattern baldness.

2.Wearing a hat is said to cause hair loss.

This may only be true if you wear a hat that is prohibitively tight and may truly cause hair to be pulled off. Any form of pulling or tightening of the hair can have some effect on hair loss. Apart from this perceived usage of hat, simply wearing a hat is not a problem if it fits well.

3. You heard that when you were bald as a baby, you'll be bald in your entire life.

Well, babies are often bald. Having no hair when you were born just means the hair genes hadn't kicked in yet. It has no bearing on how you'll end up later.

4. Cleaning the scalp of sebum will free up trapped hairs.

Not really true. Male pattern baldness means that the hair follicle withers and dies. Once the hair is in this state, it will naturally fall out. So even with a clogged pore, there is no underlying hair to sprout out from under.

5. Rigorously towel drying the hair will create hair loss

Not necessarily true. Hair loss is genetically or medically predispositioned. This means that it is within your blood or your body system that your hair will fall out. Rubbing towel will most likely contribute to falling hair but this is not the basis why your hair will fall out. Even if you will not rub your hair, it will still fall anyhow.

So there you have it. Hair loss is more than just what you do with your hair. Neither is it dictated by what you hear. Knowing the causes of hair loss by clinical and scientific study is more reliable than what "other people thinks".
